Laser Hair Removal

It’s 2020, it’s time to stop shaving and get to the root of the problem

Laser Hair Removal

We all have unwanted hair. The question is, what are you doing about it?
At Skindeep we only use the latest in medical technology. We use a Cynosure medical grade laser to destroy the root of hair cells, so that you can enjoy smooth, hairless skin.

Dear Body Hair,

How does it work?

Laser hair removal works by emitting a light that targets the hair cells responsible for hair growth. The pigment in the hair absorbs the light which, is converted to heat energy that destroys the hair follicle effectively damaging, inhibiting or delaying regrowth. As the hair follicle absorbs the energy, the surrounding skin remains undamaged and untouched.

Which areas can be treated?

We treat all areas of the face and body. Treatment areas include but are not limited to: eyebrows, cheek bones, chin, upper lip, bikini line, full arms, full legs, back and chest.

Who can get laser hair removal?

LHR is safe for all skin types. This includes both light and dark skin as well as most hair colours. We treat both male and female clients and recently partnered with the NHS to offer laser hair removal to gender identity clients.

We treat all skin types with our medical grade laser machine

How many treatments will I need?

The number of treatments a client has is completely independent. Two people never have the same type or rate of hair growth. We recommend an initial 6 session cycle where, over time the hair becomes finer and less visible. However, maintenance treatments may be necessary after the initial 6 sessions. As hair growth differs from person to person we cannot guarantee a certain number of sessions will permanently remove your unwanted hair.

What are the risks?

Last hair removal is a completely safe and regulated procedure with minimal risk. Some clients experience skin irritation for a short while after the treatment e.g. redness, itchiness and general discomfort. However these symptoms usually disappear within several hours.
To minimise risk, it is essential that you follow the preparation and after care guidelines provided by your laser therapist.

The Important Stuff

Medication

Prior to treatment you will have a one-to-one consultation with a certified laser therapist who will assess your skin and discuss any medical conditions. We double check all medication with our professional laser provider and regulators to ensure you are eligible.

Tanned Skin

When the skin is tanned there is excess pigment on the surface of your skin which, the laser cannot determine if it is in your hair follicle or on the skin. We cannot treat skin that has been tanned naturally or artificially as this will cause significant burns and trauma to the skin.

White Hair

Unfortunately, laser hair removal does not work on white hairs. As the laser picks up on the pigment (melanin) of the hair follicle, the machine will not detect white hairs simply due to the lack of pigment. Therefore, we do not treat clients who wish to remove white hair with LHR.

Great as always, wish I had done
laser hair removal years ago. Very happy.
